Christopher P. Ziadie

Christopher Patrick Ziadie beloved father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and adored teacher went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18th, 2022 at the age of 55. Throughout his hard-fought battle with lung cancer, he maintained his spark, spirit, and sense of humor until the very end. He is now reunited with his father Dennis and his grandmother Nellie. Chris was a man who lived his life doing things his way without apology. Chris was born on July 8th, 1967 in Kingston, Jamaica to Dennis and Claire Ziadie. He was the eldest of six children and quickly became a very talented football (soccer) player from a young age under his father’s coaching. Chris had stellar seasons at St. George’s College between 1983 and 1985, winning the Manning Cup, Walker Cup K.O, and the Olivier Shield. His playing career took him to the international stage as a member of the Senior Reggae Boyz and the Jamaica National Team at the U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels. His athletic and academic talents earned him the opportunity to attend Suffield Academy (1985-1986), and Columbia University in New York (1986-1990) where he became a standout. He captained the football team in his senior year with his younger brother Nick as a teammate by his side. He later went on to play professionally for the Kingston Lions in the Caribbean Professional Soccer League. Chris married Debbie Doyle in 1992 and they raised 2 children together, Ryan and Chelsea. When Debbie and his children moved to Canada during their childhood, Chris traveled to be with them every summer for his birthday in July and every Christmas without fail. He loved his children and it was important for him to be with them for these special occasions. Chris was an exceptional storyteller and enjoyed telling them stories when they were young as his father used to do with him and his brothers and sisters as children. After moving to Florida from Jamaica, Chris found two passions: one was golf and the other was teaching English at Somerset Academy Miramar. He practiced his golf swing almost daily after school on the field and played most Saturdays. His passion for teaching was truly inspiring to all that knew him. Chris went above and beyond in his focus and dedication to help his students pass their exams and succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. He felt at home at Somerset Academy and strived to positively impact the school and the students that he taught. Chris is survived by Debbie, his children Ryan and Chelsea, his mother Claire, his siblings Nick, Sharon, Craig, Kim, and John, his cousins and the entire Ziadie family, his best friends, and all of those who loved him both near and far. The Memorial Service/Funeral for Christopher Patrick Ziadie will be held at 5:00 pm EDT on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Bell's Funeral Home, 8390 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, Florida. All are welcome. Attire: Smart casual, darker, and conservative colors.
