Carmen Holzer Rotger, 95 years old, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away January 29, 2021 of natural causes. Anthony Rotger, her loving husband for 75 years, was at her side. She is also survived by her daughter Teresa Rotger Banta, her son-in-law Fred Banta and her grandson Daniel Banta. Her son Anthony Jr. preceded her in death in 2007.
Carmen Holzer was born in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1936 she immigrated with her family to the United States and settled in New York City. While a teenager in New York, she met Anthony. They married in 1946 after Anthony returned from the war and started a family with the arrival of Teresa in 1951 and Anthony Jr. in 1953.
The Rotgers moved to Florida in the mid-1950s where Carmen found employment as an Executive Secretary with the Exxon Corporation. She worked for senior executives at Exxon until her retirement. Before and after her retirement she enjoyed participating in at least three bowling leagues of which she served as the secretary of one and kept it well organized. She was an excellent bowler. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson in Colorado and Florida.
Carmen was a kind and loving person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic no viewing or church services were held for Carmen. A graveside service was performed by a Deacon during her burial at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Miami, Florida.
