It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Muriel James, who departed from this world on August 17th, 2024. She was cherished by many.
On January 29th,1932, Louise Powell and Albert James brought a lovely baby girl into this world. She was born in Spring Mount, Jamaica, and was one of five girls and one boy.
In her younger years, she attended Springfield Primary School. Once she graduated, she pursued her passion for fashion and went on to learn the skill of dressmaking in her teens. She specialized in wedding dressmaking and was well-known for her innate talent.
Her dreams did not stop there. She had dreams of a better life and sought to migrate to America. Before coming to the US, she spent three years in Nassau, Bahamas. In the early 70's, she took residency in Miami, Florida, until her passing. Muriel lived a life filled with determination and strength. She touched the lives of many with her unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Muriel exemplified resilience, courage, and grace in the face of adversity. She approached every challenge with determination, inspiring those around her to persevere and never lose hope.
Muriel leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of many who knew her. Her memory will be cherished, and she will be remembered fondly for her infectious smile.
Muriel is survived by her brother, Ivan, her sisters Ruth & Maude, her son, Mickey, her daughter Eda, Her grandchildren Jenelle, and Michael, her great- grandchildren Tre, and Ava. and many more.
