Thomas Jefferson Merfeld, Sr., was born on February 13, 1954, in Vancouver, Washington to Edna Pauline Merfeld. He was the youngest of five siblings. Thomas passed away peacefully in Hollywood, Florida on February 10, 2025, at the age of 70.
Thomas spent his childhood and adolescent years in the Orchards, Washington area, attending Orchards Elementary, Covington Middle School, Evergreen High School and Fort Vancouver High.
Throughout his life, Thomas established himself as a dedicated entrepreneur and business owner leaving an enduring legacy in both his professional endeavors and his personal relationships. Thomas worked as a deckhand, master mechanic, real estate agent, truck driver and business owner. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, intellectual caliber, determination, and the positive impact he had on everyone who knew him.
Thomas is survived by his siblings, soul mate, six children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
His family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Thomas' memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
